Wire & Stone

My name is Dawn Ludington. I currently live in Arizona with my wonderfully supportive husband and 3 fur babies (2 dogs, Bella and Butters, and 1 cat, Takara). I have 5 grown children, 4 boys and a girl, as well as 21 grandchildren. I grew up in Alaska, moved to South Dakota, moved back to Alaska, and now reside in Arizona. As with everyone, we’ve had our times of struggle. My husband has had 2 strokes, a major heart attack, and a minor heart attack. I lost my mother, who was my best friend, in April 15, 2019 to Small Cell Lung Cancer. She passed at home, with her family around her, two and half weeks after being diagnosed. My mother is always in my thoughts and I miss her always. My step-dad passed July 14, 2024 after living with my husband and I for 2 yrs. He was a big supporter of my pieces and I miss how he always wanted to see each piece when it was done. My Mom and Step-Dad are in my thoughts with every piece I create, whether it's wire wrapped, resin, cabbed, or carved stone. I think of how much they would love it. Every piece I make is made with love for all those past, present, and future. I’m thankful to still have my Dad, sister and Step-sister in my life. Even through the struggles and pain, God has been good and I believe everything happens for a reason. I started doing wire art February of 2021 and it has since become a passion. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, anxiety, and depression and this obsession helps to calm me. I want people to feel joy when they see and wear my pieces. I don’t want to restrict my art to jewelry alone. I have so many things I want to make! Some nights I can’t sleep because of the ideas and designs flowing through me!
